DAVIS MENTAL HEALTH GROUP works with families and individuals who are affected by Severe Mental Illness. We provide up to date information provided by other Mental Health professionals to ensure that people are aware of the options they have. We are an advocate for Mental Illness and assist others with the knowledge, support, and guidance they need.
OUR SUPPORT GROUPS
We provide support for individuals and family members affected by mental illness. Our in-person support group is held at 813 S. State Ave., Freeport, IL. Meetings are held the first and third Wednesday of each month from 6 - 7:30pm. No reservations are needed. In these meetings we cover a mental illness topic, have a discussion, and provide each participant the opportunity to discuss their personal issues or concerns about a loved one. All information at the meetings is considered confidential. Materials provided for meetings and member books are from Mental Health America, and professionals in Stephenson County dealing with Mental Illness.
We also provide support for individuals, family members and friends affected by mental illness through our online support group. This is a closed group on Facebook. This means each person must ask to be added to the group and only those in the group can read and participate in discussions that occur within the group. We ask everyone who participates in our online group to be supportive and respectful of each other. Click here to join.
If you are feeling in danger or your loved one is, please call 911. It is better to be ahead of a situation that can easily escalate into a dangerous situation. Make sure you tell the 911 operator that the person is mentally ill. This will help the emergency persons know what to expect and will send trained experts.
OUR ORGANIZATION
OUR DONORS
We are a non-profit organization, which means we rely on volunteers and donations for everything; including our headquarters building, the materials we provide to people who need our support, and much more.
Support us by making an online donation or contact us to volunteer.
OUR MISSION
This organization was created in memory of Pat and Carlotta Davis. Our goal is to continue the good work they did in Stephenson County. They were both mental health advocates and also the primary care givers of their son who suffers from severe mental illness.
